It is with deep sadness I share news with you that Judy Zacek passed away last evening. Judy, AFAM’s Executive Assistant since our inception in 2004, was an integral part of our growth over the past 16 plus years. As AFAM’s chair, I was incredibly fortunate to work closely with Judy throughout her time with AFAM. I can definitively tell you of her commitment and respect, and deep affection for AFAM, our Executive Committee and all the families we represent across the Commonwealth.
On a personal note, I’ve always said if we’re lucky, we will meet a few people who are truly special and who remain special to us throughout our lives. I have been blessed to be able to call Judy my friend and I will miss her deeply. AFAM and the autism community within Massachusetts are more fortunate for having known Judy and benefited from her wisdom and commitment!
